Shepherd’s Delight (Original)
Shepherd’s Delight, an acrylic painting from 1996. This is an impression of a hypothetical Earth-type planet in the vicinity of Barnard 33, also known as the Horsehead Nebula because, well, it looks like a horse’s head. At least that’s what people claim. So what you’re seeing here is a cloud of gas emitting red light, with a dark, absorbent cloud, in the shape of a horsehead, superimposed on top of it. Nature speaks in strange ways. The title comes from the expression “Red sky at night, Shepherd’s Delight”.
Acrylic on 16”x20” Board.
