Senator Schmitt Samples Subsurface Soil

Originally painted in 1984, it was the show poster for Alan’s debut show at Meredith Long Gallery in Houston.

Greenwich said they wanted to do a Bean print especially for our Spacefest V show in 2013, where Alan was appearing, exclusively for us. When asked what we’d most like to see-without hesitation-we said this one, which we have been lobbying for for 25 years! Even Alan is excited! Greenwich didn’t think it would have sufficient appeal. We think the title alone is priceless. It refers to Schmitt’s election to the U.S. Senate in 1976.
