Bruce McCandless – Distant

An untethered Capt. Bruce McCandless looks rather small and alone while flying the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) on its first flight at quite a distance from Space Shuttle Orbiter Challenger in 1984. McCandless had been in the astronaut corps as part of the final Apollo group, and helped develop the MMU. He has signed in silver.
