MARK PESTANA
Mark Pestana is a research pilot at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center, Edwards AFB, CA, flying Earth science and aeronautical research missions. He served as a flight crew operations engineer in the Astronaut Office at Johnson Space Center, Houston, developing the International Space Station. In the Air Force, Mark served as a Space Shuttle mission planner and a Command Pilot flying over 5000 hours and logging 213 combat reconnaissance sorties. He’s a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists and the American Society of Aviation Artists. Mark has the distinction of designing nine Space Shuttle mission patches for the astronauts.
